The Greatness of the Human Mind

London, NW1 4RG, United Kingdom

Is there a place for a divine spark of creation and imagination in the human mind?

The upcoming symposium will consider the depths and the unprecedented possibilities of the human mind, from a spiritual point of view. What do the alchemical, mythological and cosmological motifs of the 16th and 17th centuries indicate and express in Carl Gustav Jung’s theories of Consciousness and the Collective Unconscious?

Peter Forshaw: Who is that 16th century philosopher, Heinrich Khunrath, a man who drew the most exquisite alchemical engravings, showing all levels of the cosmos?

Esther Ritman: What can the extraordinary mapping of the many sides of the spiritual brain, explored by the 17th century English doctor Robert Fludd, tell us about our present-day perceptions?

Hugo van Hooreweghe: What is the truth about our subconciousness, libido and symbols of transformation? Or is there more to it?

Peter Huijs: What is the mystery of creation with Robert Fludd?

Tim Freke: What does ‘Deep Awakening’ mean? Are we able to grasp that we at the same time live in a conceptual matrix, saying ‘this is reality’, and discern that we are surrounded by an unbelievable mystery, which is called ‘Creation’?

In this symposium Peter Forshaw (University of Amsterdam), Esther Ritman (Ritman Library) Hugo van Hooreweghe (Publicist and philosopher) Peter Huijs (Author and art Historian) and Timothy Freke (Author and Gnostic scholar) will share the results of their fascinating researches.
